I thought I’d pop in here and give you an idea of what’s been happening behind the scenes at Slanted Column.
Over the past week or so, I decided to start planning a site/spreadsheet/stats platform showing important global economic and financial data. It’ll be updated with new data and sentiments as time passes.
The platform’s overarching aim is to provide a nice snapshot of the linkages between different countries within the global economy. Whenever I read the news or spend time scrolling through Twitter (X), I feel like there’s so much noise. While that noise may be an important signifier about the markets or the economy, wading through it all felt tedious and perhaps unnecessary.
Anyway, that’s the origin story of this new project. I’ll call it “MF” since updates will be posted under the “Macro Framework” tag.
It’ll most likely exist under a tab here on Slanted Column.
I’m not sure about the timeline because it’s super, super, incredibly early. But I’m excited about it and felt like getting the news out there to you.
Hopefully, we can all learn more about how money flows between countries and how our world is changing using a financial perspective.
That’s it for now! I’ll pop back in here with more concrete news. If all else goes well, I may have an email updates link. I’ll post on Twitter as well when it gets to the later stages.
But that’s all in the future. Check back here for upcoming news.
Talk again soon!
